Ndi Ebem Umunne’m kaaniwoo, I am very aware of the situation occurring in our beloved Ebem and I am equally saddened by the situation on ground. I want to join my voice in appreciating the efforts of those lending their voices in seeking a peaceful resolution to this sad situation. I want to assure you my brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers that I have been working tirelessly in support of the efforts being made in Ohafia by also putting due pressure on the authorities at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja to find a swift resolution to the situation and get freedom for our innocent brethren. I have also had discussions with our Development Union leadership to find lasting solutions for similar issues like this so we do not have a reoccurrence of these kind of unrest in the future.

I want to use this opportunity to plead for calm from our rightfully aggrieved mothers seeking the release of their children, we are working on that but will need their support, time and understanding to achieve our goals. Once I am in a position to divulge more information I will do so but I want you all to understand that with things like this it is only wise to quietly discuss with the leadership authorities at the centre and then come back to the house with an update. To our youth, let us use these trying times to console our mothers while offering reassuring voices that all will be well soon and our innocent brothers will be vindicated.

Kaaniwo and may God continue to bless the great people of Ebem Ohafia.

Chief Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa
